Announcement regarding Blender Benders
Dear students, dear friends,
It is with deep sorrow and pain that we have to announce the passing away of our beloved teacher and founder of Blender Benders, Graham Dartmouth.
G passed peacefully, we believe on Tuesday 27th October. I and others had been trying to reach him by phone, text messages, e-mail and Discord. Someone drove over to knock on his RL door, and learned the heartbreaking news from his neighbors.
Over the past 24 hours, I have spoken to many of those closest to G, and every single one agreed that he was the most helpful, unselfish, creative, hardworking person you can find. No matter how many hours he had been teaching or preparing and recording videos, he always found the time to help you.
It was very important to G to teach Blender in the best way possible and keep it free, but he never intended the group to grow as it has over the last couple of years. I told him more than once that it was thanks to his commitment. We are now approx. 2700 members in the group thanks to G. In honor of his hard work, we are
going to do our best to keep the school open. I have spoken to the land owner and we can stay, which is very, very kind. Thank you.
We are trying to see what we can do about the content on his server. That is being worked on. It would break my heart if anything is lost.
I do not expect anyone to be able to put in the amount of work and hours that G did, but if you want to help out in any way or form, please contact me.
I am going to miss you, my fun, grumpy, wise, unselfish friend ♥ RIP Graham
May his legacy last long, and his work is never forgotten.
